Volari COPD patient app is launched by Novartis, supported by COPD Support Ireland

Feb 10, 2016

A new app, called Volari COPD, has been created by Novartis, supported by COPD Support Ireland and aims to help the estimated 380,0001 people in Ireland living with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) make a positive change in their daily routine as well as manage their condition more efficiently. Volari COPD is now available to download for free from the iTunes App Store and Google Play. Simply type Volari COPD IE in your search.

The Volari COPD app helps people in three key ways:

  1. Tracks behaviour on different dimensions such as smoking habits, activity level and adherence.
  2. Helps people Learn more about their condition and habits with insightful graphics.
  3. Rewards progress via gamification and enables people to share their progress reports with their family or health care professionals.

COPD Support Ireland is a charity set up to support all those living with the disease, and is Ireland’s first national COPD support and advocacy body. Damien Peelo, CEO of COPD Support Ireland:

“For those who have COPD, the smallest of tasks can seem like a huge struggle to overcome. People living with COPD can make small changes to their everyday lives that will help them. By using the Volari COPD patient app every day, we hope that our members can make changes in a positive way and be motivated to stay on the right track and thereby improve the management of their COPD.”
